It All Starts With Your Mind

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” – Marianne Williamson

What a deep concept, right? To be powerful beyond measure! It sounds a bit like a line from a superhero movie my son and fiancé would watch. Some of those are really good too.

But as cliché as that may seem, a fear of success is a huge factor in a woman’s life. Whether it is not wanting to emasculate the men in our lives or the rigid conception that women shouldn’t be CEO in the workplace, there is always some twisted thought that arises behind every brilliant idea that you have to take charge of your career and your life.

But none of that matters. You are the one who gets to decide!

I believe that no matter how long you have been reciting the miss beliefs that you are not worthy of the extravagant life you always wanted, you can speak enough positive affirmations over your life that you not only believe you can achieve it, but you willingly put in twice the work to get there.

It WILL take some work to get there, but aren’t we all a work in progress anyway?

Here are some ways that work for me!

  1. Find positive quotes on Pinterest every morning.
  2. Disconnect from anyone/anything that does not radiate positive vibes.
  3. Find a mantra, repeat it daily! (Example: Live. Love. Matter.)
  4. Start a gratitude journal.
  5. Start following people that inspire you on social media.
  6. Read self-help books.
  7. Listen to podcasts that inspire you to dream big.
  8. Watch youtube video’s that are motivational.
  9. Set goals and track your progress.
  10. Be KIND to yourself every day.

30 Day Challenge

Now that you have some resources to help you learn how to reprogram your thoughts, I am challenging you to take some action. Before anyone can decide where they are going, I think it is important to reflect on where you have been.

Take a moment to think about what the root cause of some of the negative mindset’s that you carry may come from. Was it a parent that didn’t show up for your dreams as a child? Was it a teacher that said or made you feel like you couldn’t do it? A coach who spoke discouragement at a crucial time in your game? A company that couldn’t see your full potential? Or maybe it was a friend who didn’t speak life into you when you needed it the most?

There are many people that can play a factor in the negative thoughts that seem to replay in the back of our minds.

It is important to know that your environment also plays a major role in the subconscious thoughts that live in our brains.

The people that you work with, the friends you hang out with, the music that you listen to, the books that you read, the TV shows you chose to watch, who you follow on social media, even the gym that you go to or the job that you work.

They all play a part in the thoughts and images that you focus on every day.

So if you want to change your thoughts, you will have to make some tough decisions related to your surroundings. You will need to make a conscious choice EVERY day to protect your mind. Replace anything negative in your routine with something positive that will encourage and lift you up, instead of choosing to engage in things that don’t reflect the type of person you are striving to be.

Take a few moments to write down things in your life that drain you of your positive mindset.

Now take a moment to write down replacements for these things that you will intentionally replace these things within your everyday routine.

For 30 days starting NOW, I am challenging you to do the homework. Start off every day reflecting on things you are GRATEFUL for. What things in your life bring you the most joy? Now, pick a quote every day and recite it multiple times throughout the day! Replace songs that express negativity with songs that promote joy. Instead of scrolling mindlessly through social media, read the posts from people that are living the life you strive for. Replace the reality TV shows with a motivational speech or book that will speak wisdom over your life.

Do these things every day for 30 days, and I GUARANTEE you will live a happier life! You will be so full of positivity and self -love, that everyone around you will be able to drink from the fountain of joy that you unleash everywhere you go!

I look forward to hearing about your success in changing your thoughts and changing your life at the end of the 30 days.

So please either come back here and leave me a note or tag me in your post on social media to brag about your new life of self-empowerment!
