Boss Babes Changing the World: Meet Joy Mosby

Hey everyone! Get ready for another fabulous edition of Boss Babes changing the world.

Today, we’re showcasing this lovely lady, Ms Joy Mosby from Thomasville, Georgia! Although she now resides in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Joy is a published author and life coach. Her business is Joyful Life Coaching, what a perfect name for a business. This is also a perfect example of how our names are anointed at birth. Joy is literally our here depositing joy into the world!

Plus, we just love good branding. She has been in business for three years now.

Congratulations Joy!

Joyful Life Coaching puts the focus on combating cognitive distortions that are limiting her clients from being their best selves. They may also be preventing clients from achieving their goals.

We think everyone can use a little help getting out of their own way sometimes!

Joy has published two books so far, one called “A Daily Dose of Joy”, the next called “Double Dose of Joy” and they are both available right now on Amazon. Any advice on making life more joyful is always appreciated by us!

Check them out here.

We asked where Joy’s inspiration comes from and she shared:

“My Mother, whom I wrote about in book 2, and her friends (Her Sisters). My mother has always had a strong support system, or “tribe” if you will, of strong women. Growing up I’ve watched them start business, raise families, kick addictions, fuss/fight and make up, pray for each other, support each other, set examples in our community, all while running their households.

Among this group is my God Mother “Aunt Jackie” Holloway. When I tell you she’s the last of the realest and they don’t make women like her anymore!! As we speak Aunt Jackie has gone to school, became a nurse practitioner, and now has her own healthcare establishment in Albany, Georgia.

What a blessing it was to be a child and firsthand witness how my Aunt Jackie ran her home, raised her children, the love between her and her husband (Uncle Henry), the way she handled business, she always dressed fly, she talked that talk and she knows how to have a good time! Nobody can touch Aunt Jackie on a card table or the dancefloor! She was literally who I wanted to be when I grew up! It’s funny because other girls wanted to be Janet Jackson etc.. I wanted to be Aunt Jackie.”

They all sound like some brilliant, boss babe women, it’s no wonder you’re doing big things Joy!

When asked why Joy went into business for herself, she advised “I just thought that’s what adults were supposed to do. Find something your good at and take off!” Prior to going into business for herself, Joy enjoyed helping solve problems and serving customers. Now, she’s Coaching clients and spreading Joy!

Then, we wanted to know what a typical day looks like in her world, and she said “What my day entails often changes by the day. However, one thing that is consistent in my day is how I start it. I start every day by stretching and giving thanks as soon as my feet hit the floor. This is followed by my morning reading, prayer, meditation, and writing.”

Joy says her morning writing usually consists of a daily to-do list, affirmations, and anything else running through her mind first thing in the morning.

We must admit, we love to-do lists and try to be super intentional about making time every day to express gratitude. Every successful person I’ve ever read or listened to in podcast also shares in this practice, there just has to be something to it!

Sometimes, managing a business can feel really hard. It takes a lot out of you, especially when you are a one woman show. We asked what Joy felt was the hardest part and we learned “Staying disciplined and consistent” was what she found most challenging. When we asked Joy what her favorite podcast was, she replied “I wish I had a more lady like response. However, I have to admit that Drink Champs is the podcast I find myself looking forward to catching.” We then asked Joy who is someone that every boss babe should follow on social media and she shared ” Candice Smith @sheroseextensionbar on Instagram. Aside from her being the hair extensions guru, Candice is super inspirational and motivational. She is a woman’s woman who genuinely enjoys lifting up her sisters and gracefully straightening the crowns of other queens along her path.”

We encourage you to check her out because every woman needs a tribe of other boss women to share ideas with, learn from, and get encouragement when things seem hard. This can be the key difference in maintaining a successful mindset.

Joy shared that her business is changing the world through helping her clients achieve the quality of life their hearts desire, by eliminating the limited beliefs that may be holding them back. Then, we asked what the BEST advice is that anyone has ever given Joy and she advised “Work hard and stay down for what you believe in, until you come up!”

There you have it folks, if you stay true to your cause and put in the work, there is NOTHING you cannot accomplish. Nothing is too big or too hard to achieve and sometimes we just need help changing our mind. Do not sleep on a life coach, or business coach with the skills, knowledge, and tools to help you become the best version of yourself possible.

To end this interview, we played a little game of this or that, and here are Joy’s picks!

Alright ladies and gentlemen, this is the point in the post where I encourage all of you to go support my old high school classmate and all her incredible business ventures.
